No problems thus far. Seems to be working well. Plus, my favored theme already has been released for it.

It's noticeably faster on my Wintel box. Note that Firefox now starts up with tabs visible at all times, which I find irritating. (Why are you chewing up screen real estate when it isn't necessary, you beast?)

To turn it off in Windows: Tools→Options→Tabs→Always show the tab bar.

    -edit-

Ars Technica also has a big write-up of all the goodies included in the upgrade. Worth a read.

Thanks for explaining how to do that Lemur. No point seeing the tab-bar when there is only 1 tab there.

It really is quite a bit faster.

@ Hooahguy - Adblock works with it for sure.

So I'm the only one who's got it buggy.

Edit: A reinstall later and it's all perfect!

Any problems between major updates are usually fixed by a clean reinstall - and anything a reinstall doesn't fix can be fixed by deleting your user profile, plugins etc, this is usually in ~/.mozilla/firefox/ or usually "C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application Data\Mozilla" for windows users. It means you'll have to re-do all of your customisations of course.

-Edit: Any problems with specific websites are usually cured by clearing the cache.

I always make the tabs bar visible at all times anyway, I don't like things switching around too much, the interface should be somewhat stable and not flicker on and off and rearrange all the time. Oh and it makes it a bit more like Opera, together with the All-in-One Sidebar plugin.

Gonna wait until it does the automatical update I guess, because I'm lazy and for addon compatibility(you see guys, that's how it's really writeen, not compatability, somehow I got the urge to write it the wrong way because I read it the wrong way all over the internet... ).

    Thanks Lemur!

Most of my add-ons aren't compatible with 3.5. I hope they'll address this.

Can anyone tell me of the disadvantages of private browsing mode?

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

Passwords you enter won't be remembered, some sites that demand (DEMAND!) cookie access may act funky.

But think of it this way: The internet is a long, moist canyon full of potential hazards. Porn Privacy mode allows you to thrust into this moist crevasse with the equivalent of a latex raincoat wrapped tightly around your browser, snug against its skin, shielding you from viruses and such. Firefox becomes an iron-hard tower of protection, a pillar of security, a lodgepole pine of safety. No matter what hazardous web site you poke into, Firefox protects your browser from infection.

Obviously, when you're ready to trust and treasure a site, you can take that virtual latex raincoat off, and enjoy unsafe browsing.

This is pretty neat. It may be power of suggestion, but it feels noticeably faster.

And all but one very obscure extension ported over perfectly.

The ones that don't work are better versions of similar add-ons downloaded directly from Mozilla. It's a small price to pay but I want the best free stuff on the net!

Why does it open ridiculously late on my PC ? Takes around 20 seconds to show up.

Here's one annoyance I have with that. In 3.5, it seems that the "activity dots" circle that shows when it's attempting to load a page only exists on the tabs. So, when I have "Always show the tab bar" unchecked, I've often found myself wondering if a page is loading slow or if maybe I've just misclicked.

That seems to be linked to a problem I had a few days ago Xiahou. I noticed the activity indicator was missing and Thought that I might have dragged it off while reorganising the toolbars (I also turned off the tab bar). I simply added it back in by right clicking anywhere in the toolbar and selecting "customise" and dragged it back into position. I thought nothing more of it after that.

That's odd. What OS are you running? Do you have a lot of services running or an antivirus? Have you the latest official release? The RC releases were very slow starting up for me.

Doh! I didn't know there was an "activity indicator" in there for customization. Now all is well, thanks.
