Yes, when starting kingdom, in options, it should display 1.05 and medieval should be 1.3

So I can't read French, and if you compare Wiki articles you will quickly realise it should never be used as the primary source for anything.

I'm still confused as to which Alain I am.

There's a family tree from Wiki, which could be my family tree for all I know.

Well for starters, your chap was never a Duke of Brittany, only related to their line.

I think he is on that family tree, as Alan the Black, Earl of Richmond.

However, the tree has him as married to Bertha of Brittany, whereas Tristan's wiki article atttributes that marriage to his son, Eudon (I think. My French is far from perfect)

But you're in the right ballpark. Maybe Tristan can help you more.

    AG :

To make it short, the de Rohan are rumoured to be descended from Conan Meriadec (Cynan Meiriadog in welsh) legndary king of Brittany in Roman times. Alain's grandfather took part in the conquest of England with William. Alain built the chateau of Rohan (in Josselin) in 1104.

Alain 1er aka Le Noir (the Black) (I think that would suit you... another dread knight ?) was born 1084, died in 1147.

The genealogy you find here (the first one) begins with your character.

he was the founder of the de Rohan line which became the line that became Dukes of brittany and later Princes of Brittany (hence my choice as avatar)

Can we get a list of who's who somewhere? It seems like this information has only been provided to the people who have been given avatars.

I think things were still settling down, and we were all just working out an introduction story. I only came forward because the news was leaking already.

edit: To be clear; we're working on a collaborative introduction story for the royal family in a quicktopic.

It seems we have still have a few outstanding issues to resolve before we get the game going. Feel free to add something I missed:

    1. Finalization of rules: Including PvP, duels/tourneys and a final draft of the rule set.

    2. KotR mod: Deciding what goes into it and then getting a version out for installation. Do we want an age mod for example?

    3. RGB "draft" list: Of the players signed up but not getting the initial avatars, we need to establish the order in which they choose RGBs. This is particularly important if RGBs will be introduced, due to the current recruitment cap, over the first few turns rather than all at once. Note that this may also complicate the initial Tourney idea that has been proposed.

    4. How many players have all the needed components (M2TW, Kingdoms, Patch 1.5 and LTC Gold) installed? Do we have a critical mass? Until LotR mod is installed, we won't know for sure how many hiccups we'll have moving forward in the game.

    5. Set up of the appropriate threads for the game. We already have an OOC thread, but we'll need a Council thread, House threads and the like. This is easy enough but I'm including it to be thorough.

    6. ?: I'm probably missing something. There's always an unexpected complication or two.

    Edit: For reference:

Re: 3, all RBGs can be spawned at once. It just requires a little fiddling with the mod for a single turn which can be done by one person without the need for everyone else to do it. If I read the mod thread correctly, Tristan got it to work and has volunteered to do all the first turn spawning for us so that no one else has to do anything.

1 - Waiting on Zim to OK the rules editing.

2 - KotR mod should be in workable order quickly once Rowan puts his hands in it and creates an installer like in LotR

3 - Enough RGB are now recruitable to allow 45 RGBs on turn 1 (which should leave about ~25-30 surplus to take a dive into the channel)

4 - No hiccups have been detected that I could find after having played (hitting end turn only and playing one or two battles) 30 turns approx.

    5 - Zim's work.

Just an observation but tomorrow is France National Day which celebrates the fall of the Bastille in Paris 220 years ago which finally lead to the beheading of King Louis the XIVth and Marie-Antoinette...

I'm not sure it is an omen I like...

    Great!

So should we still have an RGB draft (which could take more time), or is it going to be first come first serve (shorter but less fair)?

I think Zim wanted it as a draft which could be accomplished in a matter of 2-3 days... We could be up and running this WE at the earliest....

The LotR draft took one week, but there were more players at the start and there was no pre-assignment of the starting avatars. I would expect 5 days to complete the draft for KotF.

Hmmm, would it be possible to have the draft occur at the same time we're doing the final revision of the rules?

Sorry if I'm belaboring this or stating the obvious , but I'm thinking out loud to ensure we're not missing anything.

This is what the draft looked like in LotR. This time around the existing French nobility has already been handed out, so we'll just be selecting the RGBs that will be spawned at the beginning of 1081.
