We have an exhibit of Body Worlds in a local museum available till October. I was thinking of picking up tickets to take the family & visiting relatives in August. Has anyone here been to one?
Did you enjoy it?

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." *Jim Elliot*
I went to one on a school field trip, and it was fairly enjoyable, and educational. And not nearly as disgusting as some people claim them to be. After you spend a while there, you think less of the bodies being human, and more like being wax sculptures or something, which can be good, or bad, come to think of it. Apart from the exhibits themselves, there are numerous posters and audio-books to tell you what a particular preservation is intended to represent, so it isn't a few hours of staring blankly at dead people.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I went and was amazed by it. The way the bodies are preserved and the art of it is outstanding, most particularly the exhibitions with only the veins.
The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggle. The workers have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to gain. Workers of the world, UNITE! - Karl Marx, The Communist Manifesto
is it the same thing as the Bodies exhibit thats circulating the US?

Hvil i fred HoreToreA man who casts no shadow has no soul.
Holy crap. As I understand it those are bodies with plastic injected in them?
Reminds me of the disease centre at Sydney Uni. Rather disgusting seeing real diseased body parts in jars.

Some piously affirm: "The truth is such and such. I know! I see!"
And hold that everything depends upon having the “right” religion.
But when one really knows, one has no need of religion. - Mahavyuha Sutra
Freedom necessarily involves risk. - Alan Watts
Went to it whilst in Salt Lake last Winter, I thought it was pretty amazing. I'd recommend going.
Definitely worth going![]()
