Splash Screen CTD

Hey, it's another case of some n00b sign-up looking for your pity time. Anyways:

* I have a Windows XP, 256 RAM
* I have RTM Gold, thus v1.5
* I got EB 1.1 and 1.2 as told, and installed properly
* I tried using both the normal and no movie versions of EB but...

I still get a Crash to Desktop on the EB splash screen. Help plz.
* I even tried using the preferences code thing that was in another thread

Any ideas?

I'd be very thankful for the help. I've wanted to get EB since PC Gamer UK covered back like 2 years ago but I only got Broadband recently...and sigh now can't get it to work.

I had the same problem with my 512MB PC until I made a page file for EB.

My guess is your PC just isn't strong enough for EB.

Please run a validation and post the results here. You may also find a solution on your own in the validation thread. Mediolanicus' suggestion of increasing your swapfile space is also good; the better solution to your RAM problem is to buy some more.

I swear I haven't messed with EB so I don't know why missing and changed files are coming up. Bovi, do you think i should uninstall and reinstall or do something else?

And Mediolanicus can you explain what you mean by a page file, and if you could, how'd I make such a file if i have to.
