What's the reason Lakedamonia (Sparta Region) has parts of 3 other provinces in the south?

Q: Why is the map funny on the south end of Greece?
A: This is Cape Tainaron, which is only accessible by sea. This was a famous mercenary hub in ancient times, and you can recruit many mercenaries here which would normally be a lot farther off in the three different spots. The weird map is a side effect of our implementation, where we add a spot from three different mercenary pools in this location.

Cool never realized that either. Does anyone know if the AI considers itself a border province with this province or not though? I always thought it was a means for getting the AI to invade Greece.

The better question would be "By the point they do something, does it even matter?" Obviously because the AI will eventually attack you anyways...

Yes.

Mercenary recruitment works by allowing you to access mercenaries from neighbouring provinces, although whether it is just one or two I do not know. In otherwords, just stand in Southern Greece and you'll get a huge range of mercenaries.
