18 is nothing in Japan... We don't even get to drink or smoke until we become 20. We'll get to drive though.

Nothing worth it in america, you can smoke and you can vote but i wont get to vote for president until i am 21 (oh the irony). So unless you are all up for smoking its not a huge deal.

Im with you there mate. I had some friends over, it was ok. Went out for the first time to a bar. It hit me as the guy checked my ID, having turned 18 only 2 minutes previously (2 past midnight on the morning of my birthday)
I could do anything. I could go out, I could smoke, drink and do the nasty from the behind pasty.
But I don't, nor do i want to.

18 was the last birtday that you really have to look forwards to. Up until the age of 10 you are constantly trying to make yourself older by adding halves and quarters to your age. Then once you hit double digits you start looking forwards to 16 when you can drive, and then towards 18 when you can drink without parental supervision. After that it just becomes a number, I'm now 21 and the last birthday I looked forwards to was my 18th.

Oh, and I voted for my first time. I'm glad that I have voted, and my party got victorious in the Diputates and Second in Senators.
So... Edy, enjoy life! Don't feel that you are old, ask people if they are happy enough with their age. I, and just me, would like to be EVEN older. But that's me, you know.

I got into bars before I was 18, and although it's a lot of fun if you are with friends, over and over again gets boring. So yeah, clubs, driving license and buying stocks are the only things I'm gonna be looking forward to from now on.

Avoided this as long as I could...d00d 18...Damn, what I wouldn't give to be that age again now, had been in relationship for 3 years by then & was a crazed drunk, (there's more but this is neither the time nor the place to get into it). What I wouldn't give to go back, chuck her, stop drinking, & give up smoking.
Back on topic...Enough of this "I feel old rubbish", time enough for that later, when you're bed bound, toothless, incontinent & think everyones called Ruby, oh and you may be bald too btw!
You know when you're really old Ruby? When the police all start looking like they should still be at school. Until that time, get off your beehind, go out & be an unruly teen like your supposed to, its what old people expect.
