    Im with you there mate. I had some friends over, it was ok. Went out for the first time to a bar. It hit me as the guy checked my ID, having turned 18 only 2 minutes previously (2 past midnight on the morning of my birthday)

    I could do anything. I could go out, I could smoke, drink and do the nasty from the behind pasty.

    But I don't, nor do i want to.

    18 was the last birtday that you really have to look forwards to. Up until the age of 10 you are constantly trying to make yourself older by adding halves and quarters to your age. Then once you hit double digits you start looking forwards to 16 when you can drive, and then towards 18 when you can drink without parental supervision. After that it just becomes a number, I'm now 21 and the last birthday I looked forwards to was my 18th.
