you know, just because it happens to not work right on your computer does not mean the did not thoroughly test it. they cannot possibly take the time to test every single computer configuration possible before release. it would be pushed back at least anothe year.

Did Not work on all 6 of My Friend's computers either, same exact disc(s) . If You're going to market/sell a product, be damned sure EVERYTHING works! !!! before making it available.

Sturmwolf, your rant is old and outdated, by now these problems have been largely removed and while they shouldn't have been there from the start, finding all bugs in a certain piece of software is almost impossible. That the other Total War games were flawless from the start is also quite wrong.

As it has been stated, this was a good release. I was around (only just mind you) for the release of M2:TW and I thought it was going to be the same. Check pages and pages back in the very start of the E:TW forum here, hardly anyone (read: me and one or two other people) turned up to defend E:TW after the 'horror' of M2:TW.

    However, Husar.

Have you done any coding Sturmwolf? I haven't done a whole lot, but I did spend 3 months making a little crappy game with a friend, who is a member here, Sarathos. It was constant programming, bug checking and so forth, yet it was completly full of bugs when we released it. I just couldnt find out what was causing them. And my game was just a little point and click.

Fixing a bug often causes other ones to arise, and then you get stuck in a loop, all the while the community is in an outrage because you havent patched the game for so long, so you release the current one, then the community is in an outrage because you didnt balance test, bugtest and give them free stuff. So you get back to testing and they complain you arent doing anything to fix it, that you're taking too long and that you have lost them as a buyer.

Trust me, I got quite good at that on the DotA forums.

I lost my train of though, L.E.N. is insulting me in broken english ("THE GOVERNMENT WITH YOUR FACE"...what?) and its dinner time.

    how very true.
id say that most people who just rant about the game about how awful it is (even though its not) need to calm down and look at the facts and overall experiences with other players. nor do they realize that very few games nowadays are bug free due to complexity. only the really simple ones can be guaranteed bug-free, like tetris or pac-man.
i for one never had a sinlge CA-related crash. i feel blessed. the only crash ive had were crashes relating to incompatible mods ive tried out.

    [We're completely off-topic here but:]

You have no idea how lucky you are if you've not had a single crash!

Actually, even Pac-Man apparently has an unfixable bug on the 256th level where the screen gets screwed up and the level is impassible: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pac-man#Split-screen Bugs happen; nothing that anybody can do about it.

Actually, I've never had a CA related crash either... maybe Jews don't get buggy CA games.
