Strange problem

Hi All,

I got a new PC recently to play Empire. Well I got empire and it worked perfectly on my new system. Then I got bored with it so I thought I would load up all the mods I played on M2TW-- SS, BC, TATW. Now I not sure if the mods caused the problem but after about an hour of playing any of those mods the sound would start to crackle and continue to get worse until the whole thing froze up. This same thing happened on all the mods. So, I thought maybe Vista 64bit is not meant for these mods. I went back to playing Empire and now the same thing happens to me when I am playing it. I am not sure what would be causing this kind of thing. Does anyone have any clue? Let me know if you need any tech info on my computer I have the i7 Intel processr and the ATI 4850 graphics card with 8 gigs of RAM. Thanks for any help anyone can give to me.
