    Default 1776 CTD

I was merrily playing as GB 1776 when I went to end my turn it scanned through the nations I got an abnormally long pause at the Ottoman Empire it then ended on the Pirates , Then Windows closed the program because the program"stopped working" Whats happening? I seem to remember the pause occurring with Sweden but that seemed to have been cured with patch1.2 I am playing with 1.31 how can I get it back to 1.3 where I had no problems

Count yourself lucky, I've never gotten past the 1730s.

Your save game got corrupt. Unfortunately that happens from time to time. 1776 has nothing to do with it. Try reloading the game from a couple years before that point.

I wouldn't put it past them...
Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.

Have the same problem on my Ottoman campaign, though a few years later, 1788 winter I think. Just crashes after the AI has done all of it's moves. Don't think it's a corrupt save game as I can play through the last few turns without problem only for it to always crash at the same point in turn 176. All unmodded ofc. I've tried just about everything, from minimum graphics settings to stopping any training/research to disbanding fleets, nothing works. Obviously isn't of much help to you, but you're not the only one having it.

I contacted Sega support for it, and they gave me this reply:

The development team are aware of some issues that are causing
Empire: Total War to crash and hang and some points within the
game. The are working to bring out a new update to rectify
these issues, Please keep an eye on the official forum for
    future updates.
Which was the reply I kinda expected, so I'm just benching the campaign until the next patch and hoping it gets sorted.
