Thread: CTD during Eleutheroi turn

  1. #1

    Default CTD during Eleutheroi turn

Version: 1.1, RTW exe, all 1.2 fixes installed
    Tried http[]://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=81488 (remove the [])
Tried adding the Control Faction script (Doesn't work.. it doesn't give me control of them, perhaps because Eleutheroi is AI only?)
    Checked every city for rebelling

CTD happens both with or without the Script installed

    Any idea?
If that's of any use, i can post the savegame or get the crash monitor working...

control slave should work I think.

When you say every city, do you mean all your cities or all cities? Does it still happen if you load an earlier save and come to the same point (I'd suggest autoresolving any battles to quickly get there)?

for "all cities" i mean the ones owned by me and by eleutheroi, didn't bother to check others.
I reloaded a save about 5 turns ago, and got the same problem, only delayed by a single turn.
Trying right now control slave instead of control eleutheroi.
    Thanks for the rapid help!

Tried all the variants of Control/control, with _ or not, Slave, Slaves, slave, slaves, Nothing.
The internal name is not listed in the frequently encountered issues, strangely: all the others are present.

Actually, usually you should check all the non-eleutheroi cities. This is because the eleutheroi cannot possibly rebel.

Sorry I was too brief in my previous post. What I really meant was to put
console_command control slave into the generic_script.txt, as detailed in the frequent issues. You did know the command does not work on the command line, but only in a script, right?

Yes, i was actually using the generic_script.txt, and the toggle perfect spy was working, where control slave wasn't.
Re-checked all the cities, no rebellions.
However: there was a REALLY strange agglomerate of troops near Iuvavoaeta, i destroyed them all with autowin attacker, conquered Iuvavoaeta, re-installed EB from scratch (saving the savegame) and it worked.
Eleutheroi had nine armies all of 20, packed up in a really tight space: probably it was some movement glitch.
console_command control slave still doesn't work in the script, and it's right down of console_command toggle_perfect_spy.
Anyway: Solved! thanks for the help :)

Okay, that's great. I have no idea how they would end up clustered together in the same spot, but sounds to me that you've found your culprit !

I'll have to try to get the eleutheroi control working at some point. I really thought that should work.

After that "solve", passed 3-4 turns, something VERY strange happened.
about half of my characters, both family members and generals, got two traits:
    Slain by Sabaeans
    Recruited General
    Goudom
a turn passed, and nothing happened.. shall i leave them be?
The cause is probably that i loaded it without the 1.2 patch one time =\

Yes, changing certain files will do that to your savegame.
