Well, I'm just new to this forum, and get confused with some members who say they hate the Romani. , well, actually i ask my friend who apparently also their group, and say they are the Roman haters. Now I want to ask... Why they hate the Romans?

EDIT: He says that he hate the Roman republic for destroying some other cultures and backstabbing their treaties, and they are the most overpowered faction in most games.

Lol - it's largely just having fun among us Hellenic fans. I don't hate romani at all, but I'm a member...well because it's fun. I'm not one of the crazy ones at any rate.

Oh well, hellenic fans? I see. But why they hate Romans? That is my question.

We represent the collective ire of every other faction in EB, it just so happens that hellenes were the 'most prominant' (to themselves at least =P) people during 272 BC. And it's fun =P we group together to counter the sheer amount of Romaioi fanboyism everywhere, so other cultures may have a chance in shining their light.

The Romaioktonoi are apart of a social group who "hates" romans. Although many of us really write some pretty "mean" stuff here at the .org, were fairly jolly people who love to have fun. Its more of an inside joke started between Maion and Satalexton which quickly spread into a social group where we flame the romans.

While we look to be a group that causes nothing but trouble, I wouldn't say we are. In fact, many of the Romaioktonoi are lovers are lovers of the arts as many of our group write aars. We also write write quite a bit of poetry. (Posted in our social group threads).

The Romaioktonoi started out as a hellene only "club", but seeing as many other civilized cultures hate those Romaioi Barbaroi, they made room to accomidate cultures such as the celts, germans, phonecians, and nomads. The Romaioktonoi are very accepting of all cultures who hate the Romans, as they are the only true barbarians. There is however a new group started by Satalexton called "ALL Hail Makedonia" which is for hellenes only.

I hope you don't judge the Romaioktonoi on first site. You should all come check out the group. Were currently recruiting for the upcoming invasion.

Well, I'm not interested to join because I didn't hate the Romans at all (and I admit that I was a Roman fan). Hate something out of nothing or for joke is really pointless, unless you can post some good arguments here.

Well, maybe I should look when Cutewolf and Me start the next semester, he was the assistant at the inorganic lab afterall, and he was "guilty" of installing EB (and many games) in the network (he was the admin), that took tool on some students become addicted with EB. I just plain surprised when read his posts about Romans, because if we play BI, the second faction he usually used in MP (after Hun), is Eastern Roman Empire.

Yeah its a harmless game of sorts played by a few forum patrons here. As long as it stays harmless and does not derail threads it will stay.

Regards to destroying other cultures and backstabbing treaties, that's a human thing, not Roman

I don't hate romaioi- barbaroi. As a matter of fact, i read a lot about them and i have respect for their "will to power". Anyway i kill them... tons and tons of them... i'm a Carthaginian for gods sake!

Ck Ck Ck.... so you ask about Romaioktonoi? well, it was really just for fun, and we are more "alternative hisroty fan" in the world when the Romaioi didn't conquer the world.

Well, next semester I was no longer the admin of our bloved inorganic lab network, so I will try to promote you as the next admin, so we can still play multiplayers, giving our crappy internet connection, to mention that TW multiplayers eat up most bandwidth. I'm affraid if the next admin is not game lovers, he will delete most of my games.

I should add that we are planning a ruthless war to avenge our beloved Basileus Maion, who has gone the way all martyrs go.

Well as many have said so far this whole Romani-Killing/Hating started as a Joke between Satalexton and Maion. At first I also found it strange, but when I got things clear I joined.

The Romaioktonoi are not just Hellenes but are of many cultures, (the Hellenes are just the most prominent/leading Members). Among the Romaioktonoi I myself represent the Nomads above all even if I am a Hellene fan (thats why I am in the Makedonia group aswell).

I for one never liked the fact that I have to spare and "baby-sitt" the Romani if I'm playing as any faction whoes reforms are tied to the MOT (march of time) and also have to tolerate them building a Huge city in Italy (I like to make sure all cities in my realm are of my factions culture). I don't claim that the romani were the inventors of deciete, betrayel, and brutality. There "wish for power and will to fight for it" is something I find worth to take as an example for policy in EB and/or any TW game.

And as many have stated already, some prominent members of the group are writing AARs (very good ones by the way) and also write nice poems (to see those join the group).

As much as I know we haven't derailed any thread so far. Also most of us are lovers of many forms of alternative History and we also wish to show that the past could have been different. Pluss most of us find this "Romani centeredness/overjudgement" a bit too much.

Yeah, and spoil the fun for others . Remember what Epicurus said? Pleasure to moderation and as long as it does no ill to others. Your group sort of violated the two tenets . The Romaioktonoi group is the single and only largest pest here. Why does every decent and non-decent thread have to be trashed with "Oooh, the Romaioi are so fluffing weak" "Ooooh, they suck so much lol" "Oooh, Hellenoi roxor so much"...

And hey, that is nothing is comparable to Satalexton spam, as he is truly a worthy successor to the past Meth-ACIN spam this sub-forum lived through. I mean, Methacin duo cleverly masked their spam, but Sata posts are pure rubbish.

I find Jebs are worse, but that's mainly because you have to figure out what he's trying to say at first unless it's one of his usual one liners such as "I like the smell of burning Rome" or "Scipio must die" etc. If there posts were at least constructive in even the slightest most minute way it wouldn't be an issue but a few of them seem to be rarely capable of this.

and let the moderators deal with with Satalextons Spam. If they think its too much, they will let him know. Like Krusader said, its Harmless. Its not your job to keep the forum "spamless", he have mods for that.

I like Jebs, as I find them entertaining. Its poetry, first off. Second off, hes from Croatia, and I dont think his english is perfect.

No, I was not saying you did that - I mean the other group members would say thins along those lines. Unlike some others, I have never seen you spam that way, but you do manage to insert others things at times.

Also, while I do certainly sound like a sour-faced disciplinarian/granny, I care not, as I take spam seriously.


EDIT: Oh, and of course, Jebivjetar is also on par with Satalexton. But one can see he is merely imitating, merely attempting to get more accepted into the group. Satalexton is the leader - he has no excuse. Finally, inside the group spamming is encouraged to a degree that titles are handed out based on how much one spams. An initiation rite involves more spam. Spam, spam, spam.

Sad thing is, if those blokes actually cared about Hellenes, and knew much about them, but I bet I know more about the Greeks than 95% of those group members. And I am no Greek expert myself...

Btw, id like to say that the Eb team did a wonderful job representing all cultures, including the Romans to a very historically accurate degree. I bow to your persistence in that.
