As soon as you take control of revolutionary troops you loose control of the faction.

I had previously thought that you only had a turn or so to regain control. Is it longer?

So long as you have troops?

It still seems a risky business to putter around in the region while the loyalist forces can build quicker than you.

Let us know how it turns out.

yeah, you would quickly lose, especially if there was a decent garrison in the capitol city.

i'm pretty sure as long as you have men you can still be rebels. otherwise you would have to attack and take the city in 1 turn.

Which is usually your best bet if you set it up properly, otherwise you side with the loyalists and exterminate the rebel scum!

Has anyone found out if you can take another city instead of your capital with a rebel army?

i already tried: rebel armies, whether player or a.i., cannot go anywhere but the capital region.

I just thrashed a French rebellion (as U.P.) and the remnants wandered up to the border of my province of Alsace. I wondered if they could have attacked it the next turn?

I dangled two ungarrisoned carrots for them to take: Flanders and Alsace, both within easy striking distance and marched the army back to Paris as a disincentive for them to go that way. Over the next couple of turns they stayed in France, burned a church and then faded away.

Looks like you are right about them not leaving their capital region. What about rebellions in other regions? I have had them in Algeria I think because it gets a big religio unrest hit and you can't build a church for ages. I always squish them straight away, but I don't know if they are unable to leave the province.
