Thread: So, Epeirotes Approach Me

    Default So, Epeirotes Approach Me

It's about 258 B.C, I'm the Aedui and got an offer from Epeiros to send one or two armies (can't remind exactly how many) to solve the Epeirote barbarian problem by taking Vindobona and Ak-Ink. The Romani are under control now (I've taught them a lesson) so I accepted it and am currently training Bataroas for the campaign.

My question is: how many of you actually fulfilled that mission? Those two cities seem too far away from my Gallic homelands, yet an alliance with Epeiros for now is a good prospect. Besides they are still my VC's, so it should do me well to take them and fortify them before the time; the only problem with this grand strategy are the Getai. How much time do I get? And do I get another reward for that? Do I need an expedition just now or may I leave it for when I am bigger and better and start expanding around there?

All i noticed was, that you only got an alliance with epeiros and a strong defence position. Ak-Ink is perfect to smash getai troops. but getai is sometime different and they concentrate on olbia or tylis.
my second step was to link my homelands with the enclave and reduce rome to there starting position, but thats logical, because of the vc´s.

I was wondering that too, is this whole mission scripted, and if so is there any actual in-game impact?

    Perhaps the devs can clarify...

AFAIK the mission is scripted, it is called Epeirotan Aliance. It depends on ownership of certain provinces, perhaps diplomatic stance of you and Epeiros and certain number of turns must have passed. You become alies with Epeiros and when you attack those cities, an Epeirotian army will spawn to help you.

Started an Aedui campaign about a week ago and got this around 262 or so. Now around 250 but I havn't bothered to assault those cities yet. I can only afford two medium sized armies. One which is slowly grinding down the Romans who are now down to just Arpi, Taras, and Brettia, and another which is slowly conquering the remaining rebel settlements in Gaul proper. Of course I needed my northern army to come south to deal with the stupid mass merc armies recruited by the Roman AI and so northern expansion has been painfully slow. Currently looking forward to a massive war with the Sweboz.
