Default How can you strip or give titles to characters?

I read somewhere that it is possible to strip a character of his title by sending an emissary. Does this mean that I've to send a diplomat to that character? I can't get it done. Is this possible only in modified versions of medieval II total war? (I also read on another website that titles can be given to characters; how????)

I believe you need a mod for that. I remember Deus Lo Vult had titles and probably some other mods.

Give me a few minutes and I'll check at the Total War Center.

EDIT: Stainless Steel, Deus Lo Vult and The Long Road have titles. I believe all of them have versions for M2TW, but the latest versions for the first two require Kingdoms.

Thank you for repleying Horus. I'll give any character named Horus the title of warmaster. :)

I'll check out a modified version of MTW. I've only played the basic version and the brittanica campaign. It's a very good game, only a pity that a good siege can be so time consuming. Maybe it's just timeconsuming because the game is that good. )

So what are you playing ??

    A.Orignal MTW-VI or

    B.M2TW +/- Kingdoms?

In option A. Titles, once granted manually can only be removed by use of an an emissary.

In option B. titles(province titles) exist as ancillaries (in certain mods) and are granted by having your character stay in that particular province for a certain amount of time. They cannot be removed and only be transferred from one character to another as with all other ancillaries, then only if they are defined as transferrable in the export.desc_ancillaries.txt

At this moment I'm playing Kingdoms Americas campaign. Unmodified.

It will take a while; I try not to play it for more than an hour and I it takes a lot of time to blow up mayas awaiting death at the city square. (my aolw culverin already has two golden bars for experience)

(I'll check out the guild forum for information about the Americas campaign; you start with Hernan Cortez who bears the title conquistador for example.)

If I remember correctly, the conquistador is one of the character traits, and you can't move these between your gents. It has five level, from adventurer to famous conquistador. What you can do is earn this trait for other generals by conquering settlements.
