    Default Vietnam mini mafia. [Concluded]

    Vietnam 1968

The seven survivors sat hunched around the broken radio, desperately hoping it would come to life, if only for a few seconds, for them to radio their coordinates for pick-up. They all stared at the lifeless instrument as their radio operator twisted knobs, fiddled with switches and took it apart then put it back together. Nothing. The captain stood, glared first at the useless piece of equipment then at the six men around him, before picking up the radio and smashing it against a tree. "Godamnit!" he screamed. The others looked impassively at the broken radio.

They had been stuck in the village, Ia Thuc, for three days, they were miles from where they were supposed to be and it was unlikely a patrol would find them. They had stumbled into the empty village after running into a minefield whilst under fire from a sniper they had named Elvis. Three of the platoon had been killed by Elvis, two in the minefield. They had nowhere to go, boths ways out of the village led to almost certain death, the minefield or the thick jungle where Elvis could pick them off.

Nine men had survived the minefield and Elvis to hide in the abandoned village three days ago, sometime in night two Spanky Burrage had his throat cut and a playing card with the work "Koko" inserted into his mouth. Last night Leonard Hamnet had met the same fate.

The killer had to be found, their only hope of survival was to hide in the village until an aircraft was spotted, the group had two emergency flares they could use to signal they needed help.

    Rules:

    Day/night phases 24 hours.
Votes in bold, unvote before changing vote.
No quoting of any pm from host.
Please try to roleplay the character I give you.
Each day phase you will vote for someone to leave the village and they will choose whether to go through the minefield or the jungle.
Each day phase as well as selecting who must leave the village you must pick two people to hold the flares. (Vote indicates who leaves the village, Select indicates who holds the flares. If both flares are lost, the serial killer wins. You must Select two people, unless there is only one flare left.

I'm just here to remind you guys that we'd like to keep mafia games a-political. Please keep things as gentlemanly as possible.
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

OK it's been 72 hours with little interest shown, I'm hoping it's due to the delicate nature of the background rather than people thinking I couldn't host a game.

It was actually based on a book (well, books really) by my favourite author, Peter Straub, and Vietnam was really just a backdrop, I wasn't planning to make any sort of political statement. I guess not being American meant I forgot what a divisive issue the Vietnam War still is.

I suppose a mod should lock this now.

I'm sure you could host a good game - there is a dearth of participation due to Capo though. My Speed Mafias have not garnered enough interest either haha. Try it again once Capo ends, everyone will still have mafia on the brain then.

Join Capo de Tutti Capi II! It's totally amazing!

I think the problem is Capo...nothing else. Capo just takes up so much time... the thread activity has suffered in all games... ATPG is yet to post the write up fro 2 days ago in his game
