You could probably put them on a cheap unit right next to the map border if you're really that concerned.

ok... so i guess this would be the first tourney battle....

moridin(KH) vs ASM(getai)...apollo blessed our shields and a victory to the greeks

it was a real close game...gg to ASM

    http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=8j7lmotpobc

we had another tourney match after this...ASM truly beat me in that...and yes my spartan general died in combat..proud of him...gg to ASM again

so i guess my high score is 1...
and my score reset to 0.

    looking forward to more matches...

Here's game two. Obviously the Getai Shock ball does not work against a deep defense so I had to go hybrid steppe(you don't have to announce steppe anymore, I'll check the rules to see if I got that.)

    http://www.mediafire.com/file/02nmmj...teppeGetai.rpy

And yes, I'm going to count with smilies. BTW- I think we should increase the heavy cav designation to > Very Well Armored. Medium cav is somewhat lacking...

depends on what faction you are playing with... Mak, KH, Bactria, Pontus, AS, Ptolemoi, Hyasdan (sp), Parthia, Saka, have access to several types of medium cavarly. Some of them are very good.

Polybian Romani and Marian also have decent medium cavarly... and Leuges Epos (sp) are pretty decent too.

I agree, because if someone checks up Pontos, we have medium cavalry, but we can't use them as they are classed as heavy cavalry by the rules.

Yeah, I think there should be a definite category for medium cavalry. Cappadocians and Medians are quality cavalry if you use them right, but there's no chance of them performing devastating cataphract-esque charges, so them and their ilk should be freed up by the rules.

They are already freed. They don't have lances, just overhand spears. The problem is the high-end medium or low-end heavy cavalry where the line gets blurred. Both types ahve 4 lance attack.

Thracian Prodromoi are medium but they are classified as heavy.

    Okay...

I think that the line might be better drawn at less than 3050 mnai, less than 5 lance attack, and fast. That pretty much seperates low end heavies(Roman Cav) and high end Mediums(Lochrophoroi).

Do people want to make it so you can take a Body Guard unit and not have it count against anything else?

Just the unit number restrictions. Some peopel want it. And yes, it would have to be the infantry generals for KH. I would not recommend that with the current format. Only cavalry generals can effectively cheese it when it hits the fan.

BTW- Does everyone understand the scoring system?

You get points for winning. If you lose and your general dies in the same battle. Your score resets. At the end of the month, your final standing is the HIGHEST SCORE YOU GOT THAT MONTH.

true that...an extra heavy cav unit would be much more useful than an inf. one too...especially since i can already bring all the heavy inf. that i want and still be within limits of 12...still if the cav factions would like this rule, i am with it ...my gen would be a spartiate anyways..

and yup i think i got that..

To be honest, I rather make it so that if you take one general, you have to take another of the same bodyguard unit. Otherwise, they can steam roll the enemy with that 25% more heavy cav.

hmmm..i thought about that too but that guy would be sacrificing a complete unit(out of the 20) for a half one..so i think he would tend to get outnumbered.. it should balance out..

BTW - i just looked at the first page..love the smiley tally counting mech...the total scoreboard will look awsm if we get more matches...

That's too bad. Was it software or hardware.

I know that most people in the N. Hemisphere are returning to school and such but I'm still surprised at the lack of games...

apparently it was some hardware glitch... I took it to my buddy's and it started working. Then earlier today it didn't want to work (I would turn on the PC and it would just stay with a black screen, and humming). 15 minutes later I turned it off, shook it around a little, and hit the start botton. AND IT WORKS!

so yeah... my lattop is up....
