Well, soory for this rather silly question, but the EB campaign game mechanism in ambush seems to be a complete inverse when compared to real life experience.
First, I got spent much time as Romani, and even developed taste to use ambush tactics rather effectively. Well, most of my favourite campaign tactics against anyone mostly invloves my roman general hiding in the woods with their legions, only to spring a good (and nearly always sucessful) ambush against incoming enemy stacks, and even they gain some good stars because of it.
The problem is, someone say that my gamestyle is better suited for barbarians, and suggest me to use this tactics with them, not against them. And i try a lusotann campaign. It seems well, except........
Most of my FM (excluding the starting faction Heir), ends up always failing in their ambush...WTF?!? Lusotann are supposed to used ambush soo much, but why my fms mostly ends up as rotten Ambushers? While most of Romans do that job better?
Oh yeah, to mention that with lusos' I always got more casualities on my side in ambush... even compared to my usual, hastati-princepes leves/velites ambush...
