To those saying a high number by definition mean you have to lower your standards... Could you back that up?
In the culture I am from it seems to be the opposite...
The ones who have slept with few are the less attractive persons, meaning they also will have to make do with what they get.
The ones who have slept with many are generally popular and can pick and choose.
I doubt the computer geek who struggled getting a date at the school dances, and later in his years will be the one at work parties being the friendly shoulder for girls to cry on when some "cheating bastard" dumped her, will suddenly marry the queen beauty who is also great in bed.
I can only speak for myself, but the more girls I slept with, the more ways to get a females attention I learned, and the more secure I felt among women. Feeling secure around a woman and playing the popular role will enhance your chance of getting who you want a hundred of times over.

I am in a VERY new position, given I am madly in love (and as luck has it, she is madly in love with me).
There are no level where she does not meet me, or exceed me.
I can however honestly say that I am very grateful for all the practise-runs I have had. Otherwise I could never have got her.
As a sidenote: having had loads and loads of sex with an asorted number of girls means I have picked up quite a few tricks. Being good in bed is never a bad thing (neither for the girl or yourself).

I wouldn't say it really takes thousands of hours to build up some skill... its a little daunting at first but once you know the basics its pretty damn easy to be good...
I couldn't really care less what a woman wanted me for.. if i wanted her its all good...
I'd happily have sex with any decent looking female just need a decent personality and id want to go out with them as well...

My point is that after a certain level, looks don't matter as much, and you'll want to choose someone you get along with really well, someone you really connect with. If that woman happens to be Angelina Jolie, then woho, if not, bah.
There are plenty of hot women. Plenty of hot women you have a chance with. There are incredibly few women who has the perfect personality for you. I agree...to a point. But the term most shall be used loosely, to strictly mean more than half. But less than half of those who you must count are actively good people, the rest just try to be good people. I do agree with the rest of your point.
