    Default Texas officer down.

Didn't want to spam CR's thread with another of these, so figured I'd start my own.

A Texas Officer died responding to a dv call. Considering some of the calls I've been on it's pretty scary. Any of you working in law enforcement or any dangerous job at all, be careful.

Domestic violence calls have got to be one of the most dangerous situations for the police to deal with. My son-in-law, just promoted to detective in the Richmond VA PD, has regaled me with some of his dv warstories recently. I'd rather work the max unit than put up with that stuff.

How does a person go from being a "cute little angel" of a baby boy to becoming a piece of dung who drinks his life away, torments his family, probably can't hold a full time job, gets thrown in jail for a DUI, and decides to take it out on a cop by killing him? Astounding.

My condolences go out to this man's family and coworkers.

Simple rules for handling a domestic dispute:

    1. Separate the couple out of eye contact and audible range.

    2. Don't take sides.

    3. Knives are in the kitchen.

    4. Guns are in the bedroom

Looking at those cases in the article it seems a simple solution is at hand , ban trailer trash.

On another note the funniest moments on the show "Cops" is when they are called in on a domestic dispute...and it turns out to be 2 rednecks in a trailer. Hilarious.

I've always heard that DV calls are the #1 killers of cops. Shame, bloody shame.
