Seriously, I just don't believe when I first see...
Yesterday, I just got back to my hometown in central Java... and then I get bored at home, and go to walk, seeing local "animal market". And what did I found is a really rare, and bizzare things happened, too bad, I forgot to carry my camera.
Well, what I say maybe offend someone who devote themself in wildlife protection, but I saw some group of merchants selling Orangutans, Eagles, Wolves, Ravens and many more "rare animals". Heck, I know there was a rumours that they sold their "forbidden" things "nomadically", sold in city after city in Java... but I never tought that I'll saw them firsthand until yesterday!
So I ask about what price of a cute eagle chick and a little orangutan baby.... well, really shocking if u know...
The eagle chick was sold at Rp 300000 (about 30 dollars), and orangutan baby was sold at Rp 750000 (about 75 dollars)... what the...... and I just tought to attempt bought a nice little eagle chick, and then, I remember, in my home city, this was my parent's home, and they didn't like if I bought animals at home because it is noisy..... Well, then I ask them, when they'll go to Bandung... and they said somewhere about next month (actually, 5 or 6 weeks after), at front of BIP (A local streetside pet trade site).
It was very tempting to bought a cheap, nice and cute "endangered" animals u know.... but half of my conciousness said that "that's wrong!" and thanks to my parent's restriction when it comes to "noisy pets", I cannot bought them here...
But maybe I want to bought them when I was back in Bandung..... and I need fellow orgah's opinion about having an endangered pets, actually, the price of them is soo low, and that Persian Cats or Certified Dogs was much more exspensive... Or in case of "well there was a serious criminal", maybe you could contact Some kind of animal wildlife foundation......... but really, here, we didn't have a good laws on wildlife trade except "cosmetic one"...
Seriously, half of mine want to bought a cute little eagle, but half of mine is feeling guilty...
