I think a couple in the thread probably suffers from "Nice Guy" syndrome. They are in the situation where he struggles to get out of the friend zone, and never gets to pick between girls because they go for jerks instead, who care more about looks then what they are like. As such, he might have been rejected by these girls as they dated idiots, sobbing at night over Prussian Iron dumping them for some prettier girl.

A picnic is very creative and can be quite enjoyable with the proper planning.

Roll out the maps, pick the location of where you'll launch the operation. Then figure out the logistics, food, transport etc. Then have a nice time, after nice time is finished, you'll need an exit strategy as well.

And don't forget to have different plans set up too just in case a situation turns out differently than you had originally planned.
