Haha, I just tried the demo of this on Steam.
It's a zombie killer's wet dream of sorts. I mean small (indie?) game, top-down view and all you do is slaughter hordes of zombies and collect power-ups, but it's fun.

played the demo , not bad .. there was something almost identical to this out a few years back . though this may just be the sequel ... or the same game re released?

No, different developers, etc. You are thinking of the shooter series. That was a more of a rpg/adventure game, compared to just a survival.
