I have been following this and I can tell you how it will end right now:

Elite Eight:
Gordon Freeman vs Ryu: Gordon Freeman
Duke Nukem vs Link: Link
Mario vs Kratos: Mario
Samus vs Mega Man: Samus

Fabled Four:
Mario vs Samus: Mario
Link vs Gordon Freeman: Link

Final Two:
Mario vs Link: Mario


For me I would want Gordon to go all the way, with Link as my second pick, but its obvious the nostalgia of Mario will triumph over everything, even the originality of the past couple Link games.
