    Default Interesting diplomatic situation

I'm having weird issue in my QH campaign (H/M on ALX.exe) with Romani and some other factions. Romans took Taras right away , but tried taking Rhegion over the years up to 227 with no success. They were losing stacks and stacks of their armies there.

Meanwhile they started short wars with Sweboz , Aedui , Arverni and Epeiros and after 4-5 turns they all accepted becoming Romani protectorates around 236, and never went to war again.Rome only expanded to Patavium, Segesta and Aventicos, and Arverni are holding Massilia. And all other mentioned factions are bordering Rome since then.

When i reduced Rome to Helvetis and Lugonesis they offered me to become my protectorate, which i accepted in 222(I don't like to destroy any faction).

Now it's 211, 10 years after war with Romans and they are my protectorate, while other 4 mentioned are still their protectorates, despite being way bigger then them and having several stacks of armies.

No one is breaking any alliances or declaring any wars in that area for last 25+ years(100+ turns).Never had something like that in EB and i am playing it since 0.5x version.

Anyone else had something like this happened in their campaign?

No, Romans are my protectorate(i am QH) for last 10+ years, and they have Epeiros , Aedui, Arverni and Sweboz as their protectorates at same time for some 25+ years.Point was that i have never seen protectorates lasting this long more then 1-2 turns and no one declaring war on each other because of it for 25+ years right now.

Sweboz has 4+ stacks parked on Roman border for last 10 years (Romans have 1 stack of cheap mercenaries). And they are still protectorate of Rome, thus giving Romans half of their income, and yet has no intention so far on destroying them or going into war with them (just an example).

What i am finding weird is that AI is keeping their part of the bargain for long time, when it comes to alliances and/or protectorates, which is something quite unusual in RTW.

sorry if i was not clear about that.

I've never seen the protected turn on the protector yet. The best thing you should try is allying with Epeiros, Sweboz and Gauls and then wage war against Romani again.
Maybe their alliances could be broken that way.

A.I. protectorates become completely docile and passive. However, they can (and probably will) break status if you attack one of their allies.

Thanks, i guess i will have to start some war then in order to get them out of "stasis". They are just sitting around as it is right now, with rebel provinces available next to them.

Weird thing , it never happened to me before.Protectorates usually never lasted this long, because someone will start war soon and they break.
