Check this out. I'm sure most of you know about this stuff already, but this site values out all websites. Our near and dear Totalwar.org generates about $30 of ad revenue per day and is valued around 20k for the domain; a true labor of love. It is actually very fun to use.
I think that if I find a few grand I'll buy an up & coming website instead of investing the money in something with no real value to me.
