Game CTDs if i right click on one particular character

I'm playing EB on the Alexander engine (but not the EAetc mod) and the game crashes to desktop if i right click on one particular character. I can left click on him without any problem.

I also get a CTD if i try to build in a settlement he's governor of, or if i try and recruit mercenaries with him.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be or if it can be fixed?

Never mind - i managed to get it to work by putting him outside a city with his army, then when the Romans attacked going to battlefield, exiting and then reloading from original save slot and somehow that magically fixed it.
