    Default Untouchables

Playing as Baktria I have a two unit band of cav rebels that are harassing the central/eastern portion of Baktra itself, where there are three fords in close proximity to one another. When I attack them they retreat, I attack them again and they retreat farther than I can move, even f I have cav and only cav attacking.

I don't know if the fords have anything to do with it, but I have had this work to my benefit to escape with most of my army way up north. Now its killing me, I guess there is some movement bonus in retreat?

This can go on forever and I can never catch them. I wonder if any one else has had this happen. As I'm typing this I hope there isn't some obvious thing I'm doing wrong but I can't catch these guys. I attack with just one unit (general unit) and they still run. Thanks.

Bribe them or if you want to kill them desperately, position multiple cavalry stacks to block their escape routes and have your men chase them in shifts. Position a second stack near where they generally retreat to.

If I recall correctly, if you surround the 9 (eight...) tiles around the enemy and then attack, they will have nowhere to retreat and will all die.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That seems like an inordinate amount of work for two cavalry units. You're probably better cutting them off with two armies.

Also, your method works better for agents, since they don't have AoCs.

Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

Attack them with a force that is equal in strength. Baktria's bodyguard units are pretty strong, so even one unit is probably quite a bit stronger than them. Try attacking with 2 similar cavalry units.

I really don't have the cash to bribe them and have only one general unit I can spare for the task along with the three garrison units. My one and only army is literaly years away. If I use the other general Baktria wont have a gov and I'll lose too much per turn, more than the forty hes costing me. I guess I'll just have to wait for another gen to come and try to pinch him. It is an awful lot of work for two units.
