There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Thats great, throw the whole book at her. Theres no way someone in her position could use ignorance as an excuse whereas im pretty sure there'd be people who have been fined out there who were genuinely ignorant of the law....
I'll bet anyone on these boards a half pint* of Tetleys that nowt happens. You see these laws aren't meant for the powerful, they are meant for us 'little people', you know the one's who don't know that the Labour party is the state and the state is the Labour party.
So do the posters think she should be prosecuted for breaking the law. A law she herself helped draught. Or should she be let off, like the rest of the bastards who've been caught but exonerated?
In fairness as the expenses scandal showed its politicians in general that this applys too...

Uhm....
Wouldn't an employer know when they try to pay tax for the employee? An illegal immigrant wouldn't have tax information, would they?
If you can pay tax for an employee, without them being allowed to work, then that's a rather big administration bug...
Still maintain that crying on the pitch should warrant a 3 match ban

We had quite a spate of politicos being caught using illegal immigrants as nannies.
Not many were prosecuted, aside from collecting fines where it was demonstrated that they had NOT done a proper check of credentials/employment status.
Many of them did end up having to resign office though.

in fairness, whilst all politico's are dirty crooks tm, at least the tories don't have the dubious honour of creating a vast torrent of legislation for nannying reasons which they then hang themselves upon, thus showing how pointless profuse legislation is because if it's not respected anymore precisely because of its profusion.
