And here I thought it was the 16th, not the 17th. I coulda swore the demo says 16. Oh well, forgot to pre-load anyway, maybe it will be done by midnight
Well I got it and its all preloaded now, so I'm good to go when it unlocks in 3 hrs and 20 minutes.

I've been watching the countdown timer on my pc here.
No, they're releasing at 9pm PST - so 15 minutes ago, according to both the countdown timer on the l4d2 store page and the l4d blog.
And it's not released yet! Harrumph!

Well the files are finally decrypting - apparently they found some bug at the very literal last minute and decided to hold the release.
Except now it's too (@*&$()@&@($&)@* late to use my sweet speakers to full effect.

I'm quite dissapointed.
Most likely because of the horrible, horrible gameplay in the classified version.
(Headshot with a rifle: Zombie fades away within half a second, before hitting the ground.)
No dead bodies, no blood.
I prefer the old Witch music, old hunter/smoker ambient sounds.
But VS mode is awesome. Charger, spitter, jockey. Great.
Overall, once I get the blood modded in and hopefully the old sounds I want, it will be good.
For now, I'll just be using francis' voice over the voice chat.
