Sorry, I meant the two attackers on Atheotes.
The English don't strike me as using cutlasses. The cutlass is the piraty weapon of choice. Atheotes was cutlass against cutlass. So I presume that was pirate vs pirate, that is our crew vs maven.
I think the effeminite English prefer to sneak up on somebody from behind and have their filthy way with him. As they tried with Taka.
Did Taka get lucky, or was that an incomplete vig group?
What have you been doing these past two nights, Pizza? Busy organising?

Hmmm... I didn't expect to get info alerting us when someone had been converted. That'll make it much easier for us to figure out how many we're dealing with.
After re-reading your post and the writeup, I now understand what you meant.
Actually, I think you're onto something. In both nights, a sword or swords were used by one of the mafia-attacks. Those could be our Brits. The Mavens however seem to be using cutlasses like us.The English don't strike me as using cutlasses. The cutlass is the piraty weapon of choice. Atheotes was cutlass against cutlass. I see no one defending him. I think he got lucky.Did Taka get lucky, or was that an incomplete vig group?
The Captain is aware of my activities. No, I haven't done much organizing. Some, to be sure, but after the first night, everyone pretty much was in groups and I've left their command to the Captain himself. As for me, I'm focusing on my task. Yarrr...What have you been doing these past two nights, Pizza? Busy organising?

I wouldn't put too much weight on the weapons used yet. This isn't Sasaki's pirate mafia game.
And, if I read the rules right, I believe the attack on atheotes was the Maven crew members. The British special agent can't convert, only the Lieutenant can convert. And only both Lieutenants, together, can kill.
So the attack on Taka was probably just vigilantes, as with gibsong. While that is troublesome, it also means those persons are very likely not to be part of the maven crew. If the people who did participate let me know, I could remove them from the list of possible maven pirates.

A pair of vigilantes, as opposed to four?

Yes, which would explain why it failed rather easily.

I don't know where you've been, what you've been doing, or who you've been doing it with. And I can't find ye among the crew that converses every day. Speak up, and tell me what you've been up to, or my vote remains on ye.

I'm going to wait to vote for a bit until there is a clear person we are bandwagoning on since no one seems to have any clue what is going on or who is mafia.
He's someone to consider: Sigurd.
I've heard of some investigations of him. Now, this was the second investigation, which meant it had more info than the first investigation. But it didn't say he was protecting anybody, as his first investigation did.
And what do we have this night? A killing by the maven crew members, which didn't happen the first night. Maybe he was busy killing and not investigating.
That leads me to wonder just what the Quartermaster was up to last night. Perhaps he can explain it to us.

If this is a question of mechanics, the three-tiered investigation systems works like so, with a few wrinkles:
1. What you were doing that night
2. Susceptibility (and only that)
3. True affiliation

That explains sigurd then. And pizza, I don't see any posts by Seamus for the past 3 days.
Ah, I see. Still, I am suspicious. Sigurd, excellent mafia player that he is, would know those rules. He'd also be likely to know that he would most likely be investigated starting the first night, so that he could participate in evil mafioso activities on night two.
What have you been up to, Sigurd? You've been rather non-talkative through PMs and in the thread. Something in my gut makes me rather suspicious of you.
