Able seaman Diana here, and as long as ya got the rum ya got my vote. I think the Crazed guy will be better at providing the rum. I like that 'Splice the mainbrace' thing a lot too. We need to do that everyday. With extra rum on a daily bases, you could earn my loyalty too.

Being quartermaster is nostalgic for me as I used to be one... In the Navy the equivalent for Sergeant is called Kvartermester (Norwegian) (Petty Officer - English/American).
On a smaller ships, 3rd in command (3K) is usually a Kvartermester (Sergeant) even though there are other officers on board with higher ranks. 3K is responsible for the discipline like a drill sergeant. He also drills the seamen in the different tasks like battlestations and camoflaouging the ship as two examples.

You will be reading a lot of yelling and threatening if I am Quartermaster. Of the trio of officers - it will be the most fun to role play.
I will be the one responsible to get you lazy backs aloft - and quickly, when the time to sail has come.
Famous quartermasters from the (fictional) pirate world would be Long John Silver serving under Captain Flint. It was the only man Flint ever feared.
