Default War between France and Belgium inevitable?

All depends on the question : How jealous is the French President Nicolas Sarkozy?

Belgian minister threatens diplomatic row after claiming there was 'something between' him and Carla Bruni

Charles Michel, the 33-year-old development cooperation secretary, told Brussels journalists that passions were stirred when he met the 41-year-old First Lady during a conference about Aids research in New York last month.

'At one moment during the meeting, our eyes crossed,' said Mr Michel. 'And I ought to say that I personally felt that there was something between us.'
Belgium's La Libre was among those who agreed that Mr Michel had gone too far, writing in reference to three-times-married Mr Sarkozy: 'We know someone at the Elysee who won't be sleeping soundly anymore.'
Mister Michel rapidly claimed afterwards that it was all a joke, but when there's smoke...

Belgian minister withdraws Carla Bruni "boast"

Concerned that the joke of a sudden all-consuming passion between the balding minister and the French president's stunning former supermodel wife, Mr Michel released a statement from his office in Brussels.

"It was just a joke by a member of the government, and nothing more. That goes without saying, but apparently it's better to say it," he said.
Mister Sarkozy doesn't seem the type who will let an attempt to seduce his wife go unpunished...

Time to move to Australia, I guess...

Trust those Belgians to claim property rights on the first lady.

Unless Mrs Bruni has a thing for ugly Europeans, which may well be the case considering her current partner, I doubt this is true.

It's a shame really seeming she deserves a real man, one who can stand above 5ft 6, doesn't wear stacks to appear taller or surround himself with small people to emphasise his less than average height and a man who doesn't airbrush away his spare tire on official holiday snaps.

And no, I'm not going purely of aesthetic appearances seeming quite frankly her husbands personality is fairly vile to. In general the women deserves something better than European politicians dribbling all over her..

You are forgetting something very important. Why does she put up with such an awful person?

Basically, she is as awful herself. She did it for attention, money and all shallow corrupt things, she is no angel.

There are twosides to every story and don't give women the benefit of the doubt and presumed angels, it really is not the case.

    Sexist.
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

I say Nicoculas Sarcocuzy ought to demand satisfaction. This does not portray virility on his part. He's out of office unless he can prove himself worthy. If you can't rule the desires of your women, you can't rule a country.

It has been too long ago since the once great Flemish cities of Lille and Bruxelles have been brought under civilization. Time for us to add another one to our treasure, like pearls on a necklace.

I propose Gand be taken as satisfaction this time.

Mrs Bruni has let it slip in private that she got together with Sarko after he toured her around his command base, showing her this huge, nuclear powered, missile he commands.

I'm sure that if he puts Jean on this job, his youthful eagerness and vitality will resolve this matter in quite satisfactional means.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

So, with the withdrawal of the comment has honor been satisfied? Or does the knave still have to choose between pistols & swords? Will it be on pay per view?

I thought the existence of Belgium was a lie.

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.
