Thread: Mission Impossible

    Default Mission Impossible

I've only just started playing the Crusades campaign in Kingdoms and playing as the Kingdom Of Jerusalem. I keep getting missions to establish diplomatic relations with the Turks, who basically live on the other side of a mountain range. When I try to get over this mountain range it takes my diplomat more than the 5 turns allocated for the mission just to get over the mountains (twice he would have been able to do it, but was blocked by an ally - I don't know how to get past these guards). There was one time when I got to the city in question in time, but the city was completely encircled and besieged by this ally and I couldn't carry out the mission. Is there anyway way to get past these allied guards because they are just getting in my way?

Unfortunately not, however if you click on your mission you should see a little icon to locate the mission target. This should show the nearest Turks which should be close enough. Also when moving your diplomat only move him within your fog of war so that you can move around armies, agents and such like without getting blocked.

I tend to leave a diplomat by the capitol of every faction in small games such as the kingdoms expansion pack.

The Turks begin the game split into two distant halves. Going towards the Anatolian half would take longer and more troublesome, instead you should head eastwards. As I remember it the Turks has a settlement just east of Aleppo, you'd have more than enough time in 5 turns to get to that settlement. Khan's tip about the locate mission target icon is very useful, you should always click it if you aren't sure where the target is next time.
