I'm getting some tomorrow.
I hear it is very Salty, I shall use very little on a buttered piece of toast.

I can eat small pieces of anchovy, so it can't be that bad.

Wish your Yank friend some luck. I promise even If i dont like it much i'll still make a point of eating the whole jar.

I'm more of a marmite guy myself, and perhaps the only person within a hundred mile vicinity that keeps any in stock, mostly used for when I make English Breakfast. mmmmmmmm...

Start with buttered toast and then thinly spread over the top. Eventually you will work up to more of it.

Try a toasted vegemite and cheese sandwhich. Great for a snack.

Can you describe the difference between marmite and vegemite? I love marmite, which I spread on a thick piece of bread, either wholemeal or preferably granular. The bread should be sliced just over half an inch thick, and the marmite should be spread, if not exactly thickly, certainly reasonably generously. This should be followed by another slice of bread, slightly thinner cut, spread with good quality fruit conserve - my current fave is blackcurrant. All washed down with a large mug of water.

in my opinion, Vegimite is quite a bit sweeter tasting than marmite, which is an automatic turnoff for me. If you like marmite chances are you won't like vegimite, and the same goes for people who like Vegimite, will find marmite to taste much too bitter.
