Can you describe the difference between marmite and vegemite? I love marmite, which I spread on a thick piece of bread, either wholemeal or preferably granular. The bread should be sliced just over half an inch thick, and the marmite should be spread, if not exactly thickly, certainly reasonably generously. This should be followed by another slice of bread, slightly thinner cut, spread with good quality fruit conserve - my current fave is blackcurrant. All washed down with a large mug of water.

in my opinion, Vegimite is quite a bit sweeter tasting than marmite, which is an automatic turnoff for me. If you like marmite chances are you won't like vegimite, and the same goes for people who like Vegimite, will find marmite to taste much too bitter.

I have only tried the kiwi variety which I don't like for exactly the same reason why you don't like vegemite, it's a bit sweeter than vegemite. I've never tried the english variety so I can't comment on that.
