Default Question about EB, mostly on MIC

First million thanks for making such an awesome MOD. I have been playing for a couple of weeks, and read a lot from online resources. However I have been stuck with faction MICs. I am playing Romani, and at the beginning all the settlements are in Camillan Era. Then I start conquering regions. Question comes:

    1. Most new regions I conquered do not have "Camillan Era" icon, and the option to build MIC is not available. Only a couple of new settlements (such as Segesta) are in Camillan Era actually. I tried to destroy the original MIC but not working. How can I construct MICs in these conquered regions? (I checked script and found that Roman1 is only constructed in very few settlements at the beginning).

    2. After Polybian Reform, I was expecting the "Camillan Era" to change to "Polybian Era", which according to the script should occur, but never happened. Now Italian Rebels are all Polybian units, and I can recruit Pedites Extraordinarii and Eqvites Extraordinarii (both Polybian units) from the levy MIC at Rome. However, the icon "Polybian Era" never showed up and all the faction MIC that I upgraded still only supply Camillan units.

I am wondering whether there is something I missed out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome and im glad that you enjoy the mod,

As we say against a lot of newcomers' questions is. Read the FAQ!

Romani in the Camilland period can only build barracks in their starting cities + Segesta if I am correct. When the Polybian period starts, the camilland "building" will not change but a new polybian "building" will pop up. If you upgrade your barracks in that period, your new troops will come available. These are polybian type hastati, principes triarii, velites and new Equites. Also you are now able to build barracks accros whole Italy.

Many thanks for the quick reply and the detailed answer. I just saw the FAQ thread and I will certainly study it.

For the Polybian question, I am under the impression that there are no new "Polybian" building pop up, and all the barracks I upgraded (a lot of them) were still Camillan. Maybe I did something wrong and I will go check today.

Your answer is certainly tremendous help!

Firstly, you have to have activated the script every time you start the game. Assuming you did this there are several things that might be happening.

In terms of settlements without the Camillan Era icon, during that era you CANNOT build factional MICs there. You can build the regional MICs and this is where you will get most of your decent ranged units and cavalry from the Greeks and Celts. After Polybian reforms occur, you can build factional MICS in Rhegion, Taras, Bononia, Mediolanum, and Venetia. Thats all. All other settlements will have to wait for the Marian Reforms which are a long ways off.

In terms of Polybian reforms, there is a year that the Polybians must occur at. Check the FAQ for the year, I cant remember off the top of my head. Secondly you must have conquered Segesta and Bononia, along with Syracuse and Lilybaneum if I'm not mistaken. Then, the Polybians don't necessarily happen immediately, I believe like the Celtic reforms you will have to wait several seasons for them to occur. Then, after you get the Polybian reform marker, you have to upgrade you Factional MIC's to gain access to Polybian units.

Also, Eqvites Extraordinarii and Pedites Extraordinarii are available during both Camillan and Polyibian periods which explains why they are available.

Lastly, read the FAQ. It will answer all your questions much better than me.
