Maybe your shortcut is not working rightful.
Create a new shortcut to your RTW.exe and open the properties.
See the line "Target" and add: -mod:eb -show_err -ne after Yourdirectory/RomeTW.exe"
if it does not work, please post again.

I'm afraid I am not sure about what you mean. I went to my shortcut for Rome Total War and went to properties. I'm not sure what you mean by "Yourdirectory" in your suggestion for what to add. I assume you meant that I should enter something in there, but I am not sure.
I'm going to try it again and see if I can trouble shoot it but I don't expect to.
