Haha, this was rather unfortunate and untintentional, but still...
Alarmed at GB's rapid expansion in the Americas late in the game, I decided to strike and quickly blitzed Great Britain in my Moroccan campaign and wiped them out in Europe, leaving Ireland and Scotland to their own devices (revolt+emerge). With their territories in the Americas reverting to the First Nations, Quebec, and USA, I was going to make sure Great Britain would never again achieve the status that it did before the Islamic conquest of its homeland.
So I pillaged and destroyed everything in England, excluding its modern university and advanced buildings in London, which I would use to research the advanced techs that was not allowed to me before this point (just as I had researched the Abolish Slavery and Secular Humanism without needing the pre-requisite techs in Frace's modern univeristy to reduce the unrest in my European conquests, so too would I use England to get advanced military techs). Knowing that I would leave England to the rebels once I had finished taking advantage of it to satisfy my eager lust for knowledge and wealth, I decided to build madrassas in all the towns of England to make the land Muslim. Five towns would soon became occupied by state madrassas, with the 6th one, the university, scheduled to join them.
However, destroying all the palatial estates and ports had one drastic effect: the next turn, I noticed a tremendous population drop in England from 22m to 18m. I checked the settlement details and it stated that a surprisingly large food shortage led to a massive growth rate of -10%.
17 turns later, this growth rate is just below -1%, and the English population has been reduced to a mere 13 million souls, more than half of which are Muslim. Amazing. I am hoping to reduce them to 11 million, and thus have the knowledge that I was responsible for murdering 11 million people by starvation, half the population of merry 'ole England. You reap what you sow, Imperialist scum!
Btw, I will be building fishing ports soon so the English won't be able to build trading ports and military ports to build up another trading empire. Although their population will rise and possibly be restored (at least they'll be Muslim), their power and glory will not.
