If there are no other claims on Italy then it's a done deal.
Oh, and I'd claim the 2 hexes which comprise Corsica, as Spain has already claimed Sardinia.

They shouldn't... that region is already massive by comparison to milan and venice. You'd think the host would have left room for Savoy to expand.

Sorry guys, I've been away in London for a few days.
I warned the Swiss Confederation in a previous message that I would not be able to support them, should they decide to to expand in the direction of Italy. Not only did they do that, but they also secured the Franche-Comte from Spain! Both of these seem like moves to aggravate and annoy the King of France.
As far as I know you made no public claim to the land, and it wasn't owned by anyone. If you didn't want to negotiate with me over the land, sign a peace accord, a trade agreement, or even stake a claim, it doesn't make much sense to me that you'd use this as an excuse to raise a big army. No one would see any aggression here as legitimate, so perhaps instead of threats (tactful and understated though they may be

Therefore, I shall now be referred to as King of France, Italy and Navarre, Duke of Savoy and Heir of Charlemagne, a new title which I have just created in order to reflect the glory of the French Empire.
Whereas the King of Spain has forged his claim to that throne out of the wispy mists of brute force and greed, I have a legit and God-given claim to the rule of Italy. If you wish to continue to contest that claim, then it's war.
The same goes to you. Withdraw your forces both from Burgundy and from Northern Italy, or it's war.
EDIT:Could people put in their sigs what state they are, since it's confusing/annoying having to go back to the map on page 5 to work out who is who.

Hey guys I'm going to be helping Ibn-Khaldun with the game now. If you could send all your diplomatic deals (alliances, trade deals, loans etc) to me I can forward a summary which will cut his workload and let the game flow more smoothly. You should send your orders (movement, recruitment, building etc) to I-K as usual and send me your diplomatic deals.
If you all could send me a list of your current deals as well as any new deals agreed for this phase I can make sure I-K has the correct set up for everybody. Cheers.
