    Question Grouping, moving

    Ave,

This is more of a noob question but after putting all your forces in place how can you group them all and by keeping the same formation, and move them forward. There is sure a shortcut but I don t know it.

    Thanks

If I understand what you are asking correctly, As long as you group all your units together then you should have no trouble moving them in one organized mass.

Ctrl-[number] to group. [number] to select that group.

Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

a trick to make sure they are in formation when they move forward ,is to group units you request to move , then click and drag to make sure that you have the formation facing in the correct direction.

occasionally ordering a large stack to move in formation this may not work ,and you might have to make smaller groups and click /drag them on the field.

to me this always works... Playing with the romani i always put them in their quinqux formation, and the whole army when grouped moves like it should... The only problem is the cavalry, becouse they are faster that infantry

But more complex formations can screw up, I like to mirror the English formations from the 100-years war and that is simply too complex for the game engine about 50 % of the time.

I group them correctly and into formation but how do u move them forward and KEEP the same formation? It never works right for me, cause from the formation I gave them they tend to move to a strait line one. Is there a crt something to do to keep them into formation?

I believe first you need to deploy them into the formation you want, then group them.
After this, they will move in the set formation.

There is no need to group anything. All you need to do, is to set them up in the formation you want, select them all and click in an area where there is enough room for the formation.

They position themselves, so that the middle of the front line is in the area you clicked. If your click is off center from the formation the troops will face a new direction according to the angle between your click and the center.
