Yeah, er, John Major was a conservative PM over 10 years ago -Jack Straw is still a Cabinet Minister for the incumbent labour government. They were never in the same government.

If I'm honest with you, I'm not sure why you think they are worth bringing back, or whatever you'd do to Jack Straw for that matter (maybe like stale bread, wet and then pop in the oven for 5 mins?).

I was pretty sure we were talking about Foreign Secretaries, a position held by all 4 mentioned individuals. Even though Major was only in the position for a short time, his overall disposition as PM was good, so I was insinuating that he would be great at the Sec State position, were he to return to politics.

I had no idea that we were reminiscing about dead Labour leaders, or maybe I did and put out 2 leaders whose records showed a rather stark contrast.
