    Default Games for DS

Has anyone got any recommendations for games that play quite well on the Nintendo DS? I recently bought one so that I could play Scribblenauts and the only other game I've got is Pokemon Platinum (The nostalgia value is astounding). But with a very long holiday coming up, I was wondering if anyone else can recommend any games for the DS - any genre is fine, provided it plays quite well. A high replay value would be appreciated.

If you like platformers than any Mario game like Hooahguy said. Yoshi's Island 2, New Super Mario Bros., even Super Princess Peach.

However, my favorite games are the Mario & Luigi RPG series. Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story especially (Superstar Saga for advance is also good). The Zelda games for the DS also rock. These will definitely keep you entertained for a long time.

Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars is one people say is good but to be honest I had a really hard time with the game being on the DS. The graphics are too small and not great (they just don't work) and the controls are unwieldy.

Just check out some of these on Youtube and see if you like.

Oh man, where to start..... here's a few off the top of my head:

    Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
    Elite Beat Agents
    Puzzle Quest

All three of those have been out for awhile now and should retail for less than $20 US. Otherwise, it all depends on what you like. If you like the interactive book genre, try Hotel Dusk. For platformers, Mario or any Castlevania would work. If you like RPGs or Strategy RPGs.... well, I wouldn't even know where to start.

Personally, I like GTA: Chinatown Wars. It's got a very old-school feel to it, while still keeping many of the features of modern GTAs. When in doubt, find some trailers, reviews, gameplay video, ect and make your best guess.

    Here's
a list of DS games in order of their metacritic score. That might give you a few idea.

Disgaea DS is fun. A bit grindy, but still fun.

Picked up Bleach: Blades of Faith for 5 euro, best buy ever truly incredible value. This is the best fighting game I have ever played, been playing non stop and it's never stops delivering. It's beautiful to look at, incredible animations and fantastic cutscenes. Sound is perfect. All fighters are a blast to play and unique. It has local hosting, Wifi for 4 players (super smash brothers go to hell), story modes, arcade, it's the most complete package ever this is not just the best fighter on a handheld.
