    Default Arabic factions

I have to ask a question that really bugged me. Since I now study Arabic I am very interested in Arabic civilization as well. In EB there is the faction of Sab`yn but will EB 2 have other factions in the Arabic Peninsula? (I certainly hope it will pls pls pls )

We dunno, no Arabian faction has been previewed yet, not even the Sab'yn.

IIRC Moros stated that there will be no southern arabian factions (Hadramaut, Qataban etc) but that still leaves the possiblity of northern ones like Palmyra and the Nabataean kingdom.

Of course with the exception being Saba'.

What other options are there well the Nabataeans are an option, but they're quite in the dark when it comes to their early history. We know they were there already by the 3century BC and that they were able to withstand the makedonians in 312 BC. Sources of their early military are scarce (I looked into them) and are mostly limited to petroglyohs. Only their late army has some good sources (reliefs from petra). But that is rather late in game. Their early socio-political structure is pretty in the dark as well. However they will appear as regionals though. Probably even a camelunit which would be cool and historical. Other northern factions at our start date would be the Qedar, though they wouldn't last long after our timeframe. Possibly they didn't even make it to our start date. Of course you have some obscure nomad tribes (for example the debae), we know barely anything about and weren't much important either. The south well I already went over that last time. Then we have the east. The lands of Makah, which were once persian and later would be controlled by the Parthians/sassanids, were quite important when it came to trade. And while we do have some limited historical information on them and some archeological finds, we just know wat too little of them to make them a faction. If they even were united in some way? The more northern parts of the East coast was largely an empty area. The grand exception though would have been Gerrha or han-hagar. But as we don't even really know where it exactly was, it's obvious we can't justify it.
On Palmyra I never did that much reading, I did look at some archeological evidence looking for unit concepts. However they struck me to only be viable as a faction in a first centuries AD mod. Ofcourse if someone has an idea for an Arabian faction or disagrees with some of the above, who knows what happens if you make a solid case?

Edit: Also where do study Arabian, if I may ask?

of course there will be more: as long as I, an Arab-American, shall remain here, there will be more homies

but seriously, I think Moros nailed it perfectly: documentation is poor when it comes to this timeframe

Is there that much documentation on them before they zerged N. Africa, Iberia, and Central Asia?

Well good luck with your studies! :)

But don't worry with about 30 Arabian units, you will have your fun playing as them.
