In general this is a problem specific to the 8xxx and 9xxx series graphics cards - though I have read recently about some users getting it working on the mobile version of this chip... trouble is I can't actually find the threads now...

Yes, the information I've been able to glean on the subject seems to focus on the 8000 series video cards, implying that there may be a solution for the problem. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to learn any more than that.
Okay, I tried using the "software mode" which seems to fix the issue of the left click but I'm left with a rather strange view of the game:
Makes me wonder what I'm missing....![]()
Hello Brian_,
this is the widescreen mode - that can be changed to full screen via the options menu or more practically by two of the F keys IIRC (can't remember the exact ones, sorry) that squash or lengthen the view.

Yes, software mode is one such (last resort) workaround, but it can be very juddery. In software rendering mode, your graphics card's 3D capabilities are not being used at all, a software renderer and thus the CPU, is doing all of the work. Unfortunately for MTW players the software renderer was removed from that game so it's not an option.

Ok found it: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=305307
In this thread at the TWC, the OP links to a thread at the Nvidia forums and the official CA .com site.
It seems that the pre 100.x drivers solve this problem. This might make sense actually because I had this problem on a 7300GT with the latest drivers. Installing the older drivers and changing a few setting eliminated it.
[speculation]In short this issue may not be the card at all, but Nvidia drivers between certain versions.[/speculation]

Asai,
Thanks very much for your help with this issue. If I understand you correctly, you're suggesting I switch to an older driver for my video card. I have to admit to some trepidation about doing that, since I can't predict how it'll effect my other games...![]()
At the moment, it seems to be working pretty well in Software mode...but I can't find where to change it to fullscreen from widescreen. I know it's there because I saw it earlier but now I can't find it.I went through every category in the options menu (even audio) but it's disappeared.
Can you tell me where to find it? (btw, the F keys didn't have any effect insofar as changing widescreen to fullscreen).
