Thread: Iberian General and Dunaminaca

    Default Iberian General and Dunaminaca

Hope someone knows how to mod EB to make Type IV gov in Iberia capable to recruit Iberian generals in place of those Celtic lesser kings. I would like to be capable of recruiting that sort of general, since I noticed that many eleutheroi generals in Iberia use curisi models, could we mod them to be the recruited generals and client rulers??? Even better, could we mod the Lanceari to be the unit?
Other request for those who master modding! Please, how can I make the Dunaminaca recruitable for Karthadast when we conquer Numantia, or is it impossible since the model is shared with the Ilergetti?

Note: back up your EDU and EDB files before you try this.

This might oversimplify things, but try modding the "iberian cavalry heavy lancearii slave" by adding the general_unit and mercenary_unit (if it's not already there) traits to its attribute line. Add whatever factions you want to its ownership but keep "slave" on there so the starting rebel generals won't be affected.

Then, find the EDB entry of Iberian Milites (you want a Spain-wide AoR). Copy all the lines under one building entry that define where Milites can be recruited. Paste these into a new text file. Then, use a replace function to replace all instances of "iberian infantry light milites" with "iberian cavalry heavy lancearii". Do the same thing to replace the default recruiting factions with the ones you desire. After this is complete, copy and paste this text into whatever faction's highest level regional barracks recruitment entry. The eleutheroi version of Lancearii should then show up as a recruitable general for that faction.

    Thanks a lot!

Just to avoid turning every *actual* rebel unit of the type into a merc-general, why not just clone the "--- heavy lancearii slave" entry in the EDU (into something creatively named, such as "--- heavy lancearii slave general" =3= ), add general_unit to its attributes, and then do that AOR thing to it ?

IIRC adding new unit entries to the EDU is not savegame compatible.

Should be, though admittedly it's been a while since I did...
