I was wondering if the shield bug from M2:TW has been addressed and fixed for EBII. I'm pretty sure I didn't see it anywhere on the forum whether it was hardcoded or could be changed.

Yes, it was fixed a long time ago.
FYI - Shield Bug was found before the second(?) patch to MedII where the shield value was subtracted instead of added.

Yeah, this was fixed in vanilla a long time ago, so it will definitely won't be a problem in EB2.

i thought there was some problem related to how shield is used in defense , like instead of the shield being used in relation to front and front left it, is used for the entire front? that might be hard coded into mtw2 though.
Ok thank you. It's been a while since I played M2:TW so I don't remember well. All I remember is the enemies peasants killing my spear militia with ease because their large shield caused their base defense to be a 0...

If you install Kingdoms, the shield bug should be no problem...
