    Default Home Theater System

Hey guys, I started doing research on the best way to throw together a home theater system. I will be using my basement for infrequent xbox 360 useage and possibly to plug my laptop into (I have that technology!)

I am looking into projectors right now. I see there are LCD and DLP projectors. As well as many different brands and whatnot.

I will be using this in a relatively small area, roughly 20x20 and I want to illuminate an area roughly 100" diagonally.

I also am obviously being price wary here as well...

What do you guys think I should get?

Speakers add more to the experience than the video. Nothing like having the explosions in a war movie shake the room.

Yeah, but do you have a subwoofer to rock the house and peal the paint off the walls?

Almost. Any projector ideas anyone? Or should I just stick with a tv?

Probably whichevers cheaper? It depends on how close to the screen you sit, don't get too big if you are sitting close.

    Screen Viewing distance range
    26" 3.25-5.5 feet
    32" 4.0-6.66 feet
    37" 4.63-7.71 feet
    40" 5.0-8.33 feet
    46" 5.75-9.5 feet
    52" 6.5-10.8 feet
    58" 7.25-12 feet
    65" 8.13-13.5 feet
    70" 8.75-14.75 feet
Note: This chart should not be used to determine screen sizes for front projectors. See our front-projector screen recommendations for more info.
Random google, don't know if it's reliable.

Gnawing hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

If I sat that far away from my television I would barely be able to register movement on the screen.
