Note: I posted this topic in the entrance hall when i was still a junior patron. It was met with little enthusiasm so I thought it might meet a better reception in the monastery.

Some of you may laugh but the thing that has taught me the most about history is a series called the Cartoon History of the Universe (in three volumes) by Larry Gonick. They range from ancient Greece and Rome to India and China to Africa and Japan. Volume three was published recently and covers the topic so dear to our hearts: the middle ages including the Catholic west of course, the Byzantines, Islamic empires, Chinese, Indians, Mongols, Russians etc. in short everything. School was okay but these books really sparked my interest in history and then the Total war games. THey are also quite funny, in comic book style, pretty cheap and incredibly informative. Any other Cartoon history addicts out there please reply. Enjoy
