And so we honour your deeds by making sure your undead zombies becomes just plain dead. That was probably the elimination of the two greatest threats to the town.

Now we only got random crazies, omegas, plague demons and zombies left.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

I admit, stealth isn't working out quite how I wanted it to. Those in stealth seem to be risking an all-or-nothing confrontation. They either get that awesome and all-important first strike, or they fail to get it, get exposed, and probably get very hurt.

It has helped assassins get the first strike on their targets in this game, for sure, but it's also helped those being attacked on more than one occasion.

If I were to do-over this game, I'd give stealth favor over awareness, such that even stealth and awareness favors the stealthy person. Perhaps by a point or two.

Of course, stealth mode just helped a bunch of zombies kill one highly skilled assassin and wound another skilled player.

NOOOOOOOOO! CDF... taka... Sigurd... other people... well at least you all killed CC. I may have to kill some zombies and find Rob to avenge you guys.

Pizza, you said this game was too big for you... well maybe you could co-host next time, or if someone else wanted to do one of similar proportion they could co-host with someone.

Well I'm not saying Stealth doesn't have it's uses, it's just that in your initial rules/faq about the stats it wasn't made clear that if one member of a group spotted you all of them did (Well atleast I don't recall it being addressed.) With that rule Stealth Assassin actually becomes much worse in many situations then Berserker mode, so if i had known that I would have rather spent my points elsewhere.

For example in this game I think every action I took in stealth mode would have pretty much had the same result if I had done it in an equivalent non-stealth mode.

I'm not trying to complain too much, I have enjoyed the game and the writeups.

Yes; I would suspect that stealth mode works best when simply trying to avoid a conflict, while moving from one section of the map to another.

I would suggest that against people in vigilante mode, the only way for non-humans to get the first strike is with stealth assassin mode and with a successful versus awareness check.

Otherwise those in vigilante mode automatically get the first hit against zombies, plague demons, and so forth. Stealth assassin beats that, if the dice go your way. Otherwise it doesn't matter, they would have hit you first no matter what you did.

So stealth and stealth assassin both have their uses. I admit I'm not sure what circumstances stealth vigilante comes in handy. It gets you a first strike against non-humans if you aren't spotted... so regular vigilante is superior in that regard. I suppose it also comes in handy if you're attacked or chased by an evil human, such as a serial killer or Assassin, or an Omega creature you haven't identified as such. If you aren't spotted, you also don't risk combat by attacking them.

Were I to do a sequel, I would tweak the stealth versus awareness dynamic to make it a little better, and make the combat rules much clearer beforehand. If there's one aspect of the game I'm not satisfied with, it is the stealth component. It's working at about 70% of what I'd expect of it, otherwise there's stuff that doesn't make sense or doesn't seem realistic.

For a new concept game with novel components, I think it's working mostly smoothly. Were it not for the arduous task of the character cards, I'd be overall very satisfied with the game. Two things I'll tweak for the next game are the stealth aspect and the character cards.

I am recalling the "Orgah battle royale"....."Maxed Stealth" didn't even get me passed my first encounter.

The way I see it "Stealth 1.A group with one townie having a high awareness rating beats it.(Since then everyone sees you)
2.Awareness is also good for other weapons that are long-range.
3.Stealth sucks when used alone....(It doesn't help with melee weapons).

Unless we have a "Hunter-killer" type of creature, after the guys with the lowest Stealth....I can't see why anyone would put points in it..

The way I see it if your not a combat guy you'll probably join a group where you can't use stealth and with that rule if your a combat kind of guy berserker mode is much more reliable than stealth, so it's not going to help either type of guy in many situations.

I mean it has uses, but the other skills are so vital that stealth needs to really give you a distinct benifit to make it worth taking.

Stealth is useful when trying to run from an enemy you can't possibly defeat. Now, granted, you could put those points into Strength or Combat instead so that you could defeat said enemy, but that forces you to fight, whereas Stealth allows you to live another day without taking damage.

Why not just put those points into "Speed"? (It gives a extra hit with a melee weapon per point and most monsters can't run across the city) I am not sure....but if you get spotted it also gives you the first strike if "stealth" fails....

I wonder... if I made stealth have an additional 2:1 advantage against awareness...

Suppose your odds of being caught 7 stealth versus 7 awareness were 50%. Under the new system, that would be cut in half to 25%.

Even a 1 awareness person could spot a 10 stealth person, but instead of the odds being 5%, they would be 2.5 (rounded to 3)%.

That may be my policy for the next game. However, to balance that, I'd also put items in the game that increased your awareness rating, such as heat-scanning goggles or night vision goggles, which can be found randomly, and which add to one's awareness check versus stealth.
